“ Outstanding experience here. The server we had was super polite and friendly, and even went out of their way to make the birthday occasion even more special. As for the food, every single thing we ordered was cooked brilliantly and was full of flavour. The burger actually beats a lot of London's dedicated burger places in my opinion - nice and meaty, not messy to eat, nice accompaniments. The steak was cooked and seasoned well - I've never been let down by Blacklock on their steaks to be honest. The biggest surprise was how good the sweet potato side dish is - did not expect to find that tasty, but it was full of smokey flavour and seasoned well. Highly recommend this place if you're considering it. ”

“ Came to Black Lock for my boyfriend’s birthday, and we had such a lovely time! The service was excellent, the waitresses took into consideration that it was my bf’s birthday and made sure he left feeling special. We ordered the All in platter, with a kale and Parmesan salad, steak chips and baked sweet potato (was on the house). Everything was splendid. I didn’t think I could enjoy kale as much as I did, and the sweet potato had such a lovely texture and taste. The meat was cooked to perfection and the bread it came with was so soft and complimented the platter so well. Also cake with some sauces. It was really enjoyable no complaint whatsoever. After the food, they brought out a cake surprise for my boyfriend. It was their cheesecake that I’ve heard of all over TikTok. And I definitely understood the hype- it was delicious! The service was so good, our food was prepared very quickly and perfectly! I’d defo revisit this restaurant again and recommend highly. ”

“ Upon arrival, which was after 9pm, Blacklock was still almost at full capcity. We were greeted by the hostess and quickly given a table. The menu was succinct, and the server provided us with good recommendations and answered our queries about different steak options. We were also recommended to down size our order as we seemed to be too excited about the food. We ordered a starter to share, 3 sides and 1 'steak' per person, more on that to follow. We genuinely loved and would highly recommend their steak, I had rump cup with a side of bone marrow. It was so delicious and tender, while a little bit on the heavier side. Their non meat version - cauliflower steak, took us completely by surprise. It was probably the most delicious cauliflower we've ever had and we loved it to bits. We had more than enough food even after downsizing but we have always planned to order their signature white chocolate cheesecake, so we did that and it did not disappoint. The cheesecake (a portion of 9) was presented in a perfect state, then served onto your plate in a homey casual way, the layers mixed together creating interesting textures and great flavours. And on top of that, the white chocolate was not stereotypically sweet! It comes with a portion of mixed berries compote on the side for a different flavour! We loved everything about Blacklock, despite it being quite a loud space and talking can be difficult at times. Located under the bridge also means you hear the trains running above you, but for us, it provided an even more authentic experience, felt like we were in the States. ”

“ my friend recommended this restaurant. so we went there for dinner. the waitress was very friendly and helpful. she explained the menu to us and suggested the pie. of course we took her advice, and we found the pie was really good. thx vm. the prime rib was absolutely amazing. very tender and delicious. i would come back for this. didn’t dare to order the all-in as we only have three girls. we need more guys to join in to tackle it. i love the broccoli which was very well seasoned. the cheesecake is a must-eat. the only thing i feel gutted was the burger was sold out in lunch !!!!!! i will come for lunch next time ”

“ Probably the best Sunday lunch in London! If you’re wondering where to get Sunday roast in London then Blacklock are possibly the best. We chose the All In where you get three types of roast meats plus all of the vegetables and trimmings. The white chocolate cheesecake (theoretically unlimited) is a great dessert and the wine selection, served from taps so you can find the perfect volume for you, is also very decent. Would highly recommend. ”

“ Can always rely on Blacklock for a good steak or Sunday roast. The portions for a Sunday roast are massive, with unlimited homemade gravy at your discretion. Every part of the roast is done well, from the meats to the yorkies to the vegetables. From Monday to Saturday, the steak here is excellent, seasoned and cooked to perfection. The roasted sweet potato provides a fantastic smokey and sweet element to the meal, and I would recommend ordering it every time you come here. Not to forget, the generously served cheesecake here is a must have for anyone with any space in their stomach left over. Side note: It can be hard to distinguish the waiters from customers sometimes as they’re dressed in casual wear. ”

“ There aren't enough superlatives to describe this dining extravaganza. From the moment you approach the smell of cooking meats entices you. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff heighten your experience. We ate at 7.30pm (pre-booked) on a Saturday night and the restaurant was full and buzzing. Having studied the menu previously and watched Blacklock reviews on YouTube we pretty much knew what to expect/order. From the pre-chop bites through to dessert the food was faultless. I'd really recommend the pig's head on toast from the starters as my highlight. Having never seen or tasted this dish previously, I was definitely curious to try it, especially as it comes with red chillies and gherkins - an unusual combination on paper, but boy do they combine well with this dish. The head is apparently a combination of the pig's cheek and jowls, and when served on the sourdough toast with the optional gravy provided, it really did make for a pleasant surprise. I'm sure that whatever you choose from the menu will leave you happy. A nice added touch is that the waiting staff are incredibly attentive, but not intrusively so, and the free of charge table water is constantly replaced without being requested. ”
